I cannot say much about the handbags from Gucci House, but for the Gucci fragrance, I would be lavish with praise. In 2000 Daniela Roche-Andrier and Antoine Mainsondieu aimed to create the free, direct, instinctive, penetrative and certainly modern, simple, precise and spontaneous fragrance for men, and then Rush for men emerged in Gucci House and has become so popular over the last decade.

Rush for men is a spicy-woods fragrance which can be considered as the progenitor of cedary pencil shavings-dry incense. The most obvious note is the cedarwood, which is nothing short of sublime. It is well-handled with more wood layers on it, which makes the scent ballsy. The top note is sweet lavender. The sweet lavender freshness quickly transforms into the spicy-woody heart of the composition with sandalwood, cedar, incense, Okouma tree. The long trail is composed of patchouli, sandalwood, white musk.

It is an extraordinary manly fragrance, without any beating about the bush, and the bottle is a white block, very minimalist but tough, adding the confidence. Some compared it with World Cup star Totti. Created by Michel Almairac in 1999, Gucci Rush, the second fragrance of Gucci House, is very attractive and recognizable fragrance. Just like the love at first sight, it has the impulsive and irresistible enchantment. When I hear this name, it reminds me of the simulative drug, popular in America during 1980s. Maybe this fragrance is also addictive, unable to stop.

Gucci Rush fragrance is made of natural or synthetic fragrant oil extracts diluted in water or high-grade alcohol. The dilutions of these oil extracts determine the strength of the Gucci Rush fragrance which, in turn, exacts the lasting power of the scent. Gucci Rush for Women is a sharp, oriental, woody fragrance. It is the result of the following top fragrance Notes: bergamot, peony and freesia. The middle notes are: violet, jasmine and carnation and the base of the fragrance is: orris sandalwood and vetiver. Top notes are very light and last but a few minutes (5-10 minutes). Middle notes become apparent in about 15 minutes after application. They can last up to an hour or more. Base notes last the longest, usually for several hours.

The composition of Gucci Pour Homme relies on the warm notes of spices, woods and amber. Top notes are Artemisia, basil, bergamot, lavender, lemon, patchouli, pink peper, pimento and sandalwood. The base is warm thanks to amber, incense, musk, Tonka bean, vanilla, vetiver and sage. For the Gucci pour Homme Ⅱ，the composition opens with fresh notes of violet leaf and bergamot. Very soon the green-fruity opening leaves the space to the spicy notes of the heart: red hot chili pepper pimento, cinnamon and black tea. The woodsy and elegant violet links it to the base composed of olive tree wood, tobacco leaves, musk and myrtle.

They both come in a handsome and heavy glass bottle with a snap-on metal top and a base of textured glass that resembles wire mesh. Pour Homme has good lasting power and its fragrance stays close to body, which is suit for mature and self-confident gentleman. But Pour HommeⅡis light cologne, good for hot weather use and for those young men who want only a soap-like hint of scent on their skin.

Following Gucci’s female fragrance, Gucci House launched his first men’s scent, Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme last September. This first male fragrance entirely designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini for the modern male icon-sensual, elegant and masculine. “It completes my vision of the Gucci man I have worked on for the past two years, and now we are giving this Gucci man an iconic, contemporary fragrance,” said Giannini.

The top and the heart of the fragrance bring a smooth, crisp freshness, with the essence of cypress and calone. Violet and bergamot create a masculine floralcy, for a natural and timeless appeal. A unique heart distinguishes the scent, and intensifies its character with warm incense and a leathery accord, with tobacco notes bestowing a touch of sweetness. Amber provides warmth, longevity and depth; with black pepper contributing a striking, sparkling effect. The base is complete with woody notes of patchouli, cedarwood and amyris for undeniable elegance.

Gucci tapped actor James Franco to front its Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme launch. The actor James Franco, in James Dean style passes through an apartment saying lyrics of the famous song by Bryan Ferry-a “Slave to Love” to his girlfriend. The designer Giannini said, “I was interested in an emerging name, I like working with a new face to fully express my vision of the Gucci man. James has an intriguing, seductive side.”
