Gucci 2009 Collection Is Fierce, Baby!
Holy Gucci 2009! The entire collection is 100% fierce with a capital F! Frida Giannini and the entire Gucci team have recently revealed the Gucci Resort 2009 collection and there is nothing else you can say except that all the pieces are marvelous and definitely trend setting! The 70’s inspired collection had mostly white, caramel, burnt orange, chocolate brown and blue hues. Bellisimo! (I seriously screamed with glee when I saw the collection!)The collection had two themes: a hippie/gypsy-esque theme plus a nautical theme. Even if you’re not hitting the seas anytime soon, you will definitely not hesitate to don these winning outfits.
You have the choice of either striped or flared pants. For true blue hippies or hippie wannabes, on the other hand, you can choose among the pretty gypsy prints and flowing, feminine maxi dresses (which, by the way, are really popular these days).
Lovin’ the leather jackets, tunics, suits, and mini dresses in this collection as well! Just imagine wearing one of the outfits in the white pants collection. Undoubtedly, you will exude power, confidence and style like no other.

This Gucci heir is not cashing in on her famous surname, well, not directly anyway (And if she did, she’d get sued by the Gucci group. Oh, and her mother is in jail for arranging a hitman to kill her father. The Gucci tale is one of murder and madness!). Alessandra Gucci’s line of handbags, called AG Limited Edition has created quite a stir in the fashion industry because of her name but they will be remembered for their unique designs. I am not a big fan of over embellished bags without much function but I do appreciate the unique design of the one above– it is the perfect bag for Fancy Nancy in her chauffeured Bentley! There will only be 99 AG Limited bags made in three styles and three colors, wholesale price is steep at $6,665 to $10,134 (meaning retail will be a bit more than double that). What do you think? Will the line sink or swim, in other words: Snob or Slob?
Gucci Large Babouska Hobo Even if every-fashion- person tries its heart out to convince everyone and their dog that the IT Bag is long dead, some still dare to promote must have totes.

Frida Giannini is from a different generation than Milan’s other female designers, and she sees fashion from a more pragmatic standpoint. Gucci now is a clearly segmented, businesslike collection with no pretense of being anything other than hip, immediately understandable clothes for a young global audience. The time for runway fantasia has passed here, so even though Giannini named her Spring show “Gucci Exotica,” she made sure to balance realistic streetwear with the beach-babe bikinis, tropical prints, and filmy disco dresses-while, of course, underlining the vital bag news of the house: an up-sized, slouchier, hand-stitched “New Jackie,” and a utilitarian backpack that transforms into a carryall.
Upon arriving at Gucci’s cruise show, it was hard to know where to look-at the acres of tanned skin, tawny hair, and jewel-colored dresses lining the runway, or at the seventies redux collection coming down it. This was the last stop in what’s turned out to be a season tour of spectacular venues: Chanel in Miami, DVF in Florence, and now Gucci, mounted in the garden of the seventeenth-century Villa Aurelia in Rome, the exact spot where Frida Giannini had her wedding party three years ago. (She’s a local girl made good, and the occasion was both a triumphant, sentimental homecoming and an excuse to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the opening of Gucci’s Via Condotti store in the city.)
